Stanois & Jarvis of 'We Will Rock You' Host Workshop at Hilton Toronto Feb.27
Valerie Stanois and two-time Juno Award nominee Sterling Jarvis, two stars of Mirvish Productions' We Will Rock You, will be hosting a theatre education workshop on Wednesday, February 27, at the Hilton Toronto.
The workshop, for more than 40 students from the Jarvis Collegiate Institute in Toronto, is part of Hilton's First Theatre Memories Program. Students will be offered a rare behind-the-scenes look at how a musical is produced in addition to the chance to rehearse and perform songs, scenes and choreographed dances from We Will Rock You. Following their mini-performance, the students will attend a matinee of the show at the Canon Theatre and receive an exclusive opportunity to meet the cast.
This workshop is one of three hosted by Hilton Hotels and participating theatres in select cities through March 2008 designed to enhance students' appreciation for the arts and provide them with opportunities to experience a Broadway show for the first time. To date, events have been hosted in New York City and Atlanta with additional workshops being planned for Baltimore and London.
The event on Wednesday, February 27 begins at 10AM (opening remarks), followed by 10:15AM-12:15PM Theatre Workshop with stars of We Will Rock You.
