Sony Centre For The Performing Arts' Box Office Now Open for 2012-13 Season

For its 52nd season, the Sony Centre For The Performing Arts will host a series of return engagements of favourite shows, and new theatrical treasures for Toronto audiences.

Cirque Éloize, who launched the 50th Anniversary Season, and official re-opening of the Sony Centre in 2012 after two years of extensive renovations; and China's Shaolin Warriors, who have been away for nine years after selling-out their last engagement in Toronto, return to The Centre in 2012.

Opening the 2012.13 season is the China Disabled People's Performing Arts Troupe, with MY DREAM, presented by Easter Seals and the Sony Centre. The Troupe, which performed in the Cultural Festival of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, boasts over 100 visually-impaired and hearing-impaired musicians, singers and dancers who beautifully showcase Chinese customs, other Eastern cultures and Latin Rhythms from their own unique perspective.

The astonishing production by Cirque Éloize that took Toronto by storm makes a triumphant return to the Sony Centre.  iD is  a spectacle that weaves together hip hop, breakdance, BMX bikes and ten circus disciplines including tumblers, acrobats, jugglers and contortionists, to create a breathtaking explosion of exhilarating music, dance and video. iD is co-created by Jeannot Painchaud, founder and artistic director of Cirque Éloize, and hip-hop choreographer Mourad Merzouki.

Four show biz legends - Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Joey Bishop and Dean Martin - come back to life in THE RAT PACK IS BACK!, an uncanny recreation of a raucous Rat Pack show at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas circa 1960.  Backed by a swinging 12-piece orchestra, standards such as
A Foggy Day, That's Amoré and Mr. Bojangles are performed with period-perfect orchestrations.
