Due to popular demand, the Segal Centre has announced that a week of performances have been added to Copa de Oro's world English premiere production of Les Belles Sœurs: The Musical, based on the play by Michel Tremblay.

The highly-anticipated new musical adaptation has been delighting audiences in previews since this past Sunday and has sold over 80% of its run prior to its October 23rd opening night.

"It has been so rewarding to witness the birth of this new work and the incredible response from preview audiences, who have been leaping to their feet after every performance. We are proud to take part in the distinctly intercultural and unique theatrical adventure that is Belles Sœurs: The Musical and look forward to finally sharing it with the world tonight," says Segal Centre Artistic and Executive Director, Lisa Rubin.

Featuring a stellar cast hailing from across the country and a live band on stage, this new production combines the extraordinary talents of acclaimed director René Richard Cyr, Daniel Bélanger (music), and Broadway's Neil Bartram (English music & lyrics) and Brian Hill (English book).

Les Belles Sœurs: The Musical is an exhilarating musical re-imagining of Michel Tremblay's groundbreaking 1968 play, in which the hopes and dreams of twelve women (mothers, daughters, sisters, and neighbours) are woven together in a hilarious and heartwarming celebration of the human spirit.

Adapted from the French musical sensation by René Richard Cyr and Daniel Bélanger seen by over 150,000 spectators, Montreal audiences have the chance to be the first to experience this premiere English musical in Montreal at the Segal Centre until November 16, 2014.
