THE DAISY THEATRE is Ronnie Burkett unleashed and unscripted! Flying by the seat of his pants, Ronnie manipulates and voices a cast of forty marionettes, including new never-met characters, through variety acts, impromptu monologues, musical numbers and audience participation.

Since its premiere at the 2013 Luminato Festival, this unique performance, which changes every night, has played to thousands with everyone falling in love with the ridiculous, tender and outrageous antics of Daisy Theatre favorites Esme Massengill, Mrs. Edna Rural and beloved fairy child Schnitzel.

Parodies of theatrical genres from opera, music hall, Las Vegas, French cabaret and vaudeville bring to life such delectable characters as lounge singer Rosemary Focaccia, marionette ventriloquist Meyer Lemon, chanteuse Jolie Jolie, and "Canada's oldest and worst actress" Miss Lillian Lunkhead, in what Vancouver's Georgia Straight called "one of the best shows you'll ever see".

With the ever-changing content and nightly improv in the intimate setting of the Factory Studio, THE DAISY THEATRE is "One you shouldn't miss. NNNN" - NOW Magazine, Toronto

Currently completing a sold-out run in Calgary, the Herald proclaimed THE DAISY THEATRE "One of the more excellent shows you'll see this season . . . maybe ever." And earlier run in Edmonton elicited "Funny, touching, and pure genius" from The Sun; and last year's run at The Cultch in Vancouver, reviewed by The Province, was called "Some of the funniest, most brilliant theatre you'll ever be lucky enough to see."

Celebrated as one of Canada's foremost theatre artists, Ronnie Burkett founded his Theatre of Marionettes in 1986 and has produced some of the world's most evocative and elaborate puppetry, garnering him a Village Voice OBIE Award and the 2009 Siminovitch Prize in Theatre. His productions include Penny Plain, Billy Twinkle: Requiem for a Golden Boy, Ten Days on Earth, Provenance, and the acclaimed "Memory Dress Trilogy" of Tinka's New Dress, Street of Blood and Happy. Burkett's work has been described as "profoundly eerie, strange and strangely beautiful" and "more camp than a boy scout's tent."
