Louise Pitre's Autobiographical Musical ON THE ROCKS- STIRRED NOT SHAKEN Opens at Theatre Passe Muraille, Now thru 9/28
Louise Pitre's latest accomplishment is the completion of her one-woman show "On the Rocks- Stirred Not Shaken." Her show is an autobiographical musical detailing her life thus far- both the ups and the downs. Pitre, with the help of W. Joseph Matheson, wrote original songs for the show. "On the Rocks" will run from tonight, September 25-28 at Theatre Passe Murialle.
"One the Rocks" also includes an all female creative team. The show is directed by Jen Shuber, who also serves as the dramaturge. Diane Leah is both the musical director and pianist. The show is designed by Lesley Wilkinson, Robin Fisher, and Emily Porter. Jacquie Lazar is the technical director and Dianne Woodrow is the stage manager.
Known as Canada's first lady of musical theatre, Louise Pitre's career spans theatre, television, and concert stages throughout North America and Europe.
Pitre made her Broadway debut in the ABBA smash hit Mamma Mia!, receiving a Tony nomination for her performance. She headlined the Toronto, Broadway, and US touring company casts of Mamma Mia!. She is also known for her Montreal, Toronto, and Paris performances as Fantine in LES MISERABLES and the title character in Edith Piaf. Other theatre credits include leading roles in A Year With Frog and Toad, Mame at the Goodspeed Opera House, Annie Get Your Gun, Song & Dance, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, The World Goes Round and more. Pitre has recently done the reading of The Last Ship, a new musical by Sting, John Logan and Brian Yorkey, directed by Joe Mantello.
