HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2 Takes The Stage In Toronto This Summer, Opens 7/14

Producer Jonathan Randall is pleased to announce today that the brand new stage version of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2: ON STAGE! will be returning to Toronto this summer! Performances begin July 14th in the Studio Theatre at the Toronto Centre for the Arts (5040 Yonge Street).

HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2: ON STAGE follows the summertime adventures of Troy, Gabriella and the rest of the Wildcats as they work as staff members at the Lava Springs Country Club. The Wildcats are out to have the best summer of their lives, but Sharpay's secret plan to steal Troy away from Gabriella threatens to ruin their plans. The stage version features all the songs from the movie, including "What Time Is It", "You Are The Music In Me", "Gotta Go My Own Way" and "Bet On It", as well as some new additions and the un-aired "Humuhumunukunukuapua'a".

"The response to the show from kids and families was overwhelming" said Randall. "Soon after the sold out March Break production closed, we began to explore the possibility of remounting the show this summer. We were getting 4 or 5 emails a day asking about when the show would return- and we're excited to provide an opportunity for more people to enjoy this fun filled, high energy family musical."

An initiAl Block of ten shows is now available: Tuesday July 14th @ 1:30, Wednesday July 15th @ 1:30 and 7:30, Thursday July 16th @ 1:30, Saturday July 18th @ 1:30 and 7:30, Sunday July 19th @ 1:30 and 7:30, Wednesday July 22nd @ 1:30 and Thursday July 23 @ 1:30.

Jonathan Randall also announces the cast for the return of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2 ON STAGE! The cast includes: Hani Zakaria as Troy Bolton, Nikki Ponte as Gabriella Montez, Jake Forrer as Ryan Evans, Kira-Jade as Sharpay Evans, Justin Thompson as Chad Danforth and Jazz Testolini as Taylor McKessie.

The company also includes: James Clark, Diona Chattrisse Dolabaille, Ryan Echlin, Taylor Evans, Stefanie Farina, Andrew German, Tara Lisowski, AJ LoPresti, Madelaine Massey, Paula Ng, Carina Oliveira, Alexandra Parravano and Ryan Scheel.
