This Sunday people all over Canada will be running in various races across the country to raise awareness and money for breast cancer as part of the CIBC Run for the Cure.  The Toronto Production of Jersey Boys is pitching in and helping to raise money for this great cause.

On October 4th, cast members from Jersey Boys will kick off the closing ceremony at the Toronto run with a medley of songs from the hit show about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.  In addition, from September 27th until October 3rd the cast will be working to raise money by collecting donations at the from audience members as they leave the building.

Jersey Boys cast member Joe Matheson and his wife Louise Pitre (who is currently starring in Dancap's production of The Toxic Avenger) have been personally touched by the disease and are happy to be helping raise funds and awareness.  Mr. Matheson's mother fought a valiant battle with the disease, which she overcame only to have it recur later and claim her life.  As Mr. Matheson says: "Losing a loved one is heartbreaking, knowing that all you can do is watch them die, watch them fight a battle they can't win, does something terrible to your soul. Something has to be done, something has to be found to at least make it a fair fight."

Dancap Productions will also be doing their part to help the cause, having a team compromised of employees and their friends and families participating in the run.

The Toronto run beings at 10:00am on Sunday, October 4th at Nathan Phillips Square.  The closing ceremonies should begin around 11:15am with the Jersey Boys cast performance.  For more details see the official website at https://www.cibcrunforthecure.com/html/en/rl_toronto.asp
