BILLY ELLIOT First National Tour Announces Engagements in Toronto, San Francisco

Universal Pictures Stage Productions, Working Title Films and Old Vic Productions in association with Weinstein Live Entertainment announced today that the first national tour of Billy Elliot the Musical, the 2009 Tony Award-winning Best Musical featuring music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, choreography by Peter Darling and direction by Stephen Daldry, will play its final performance in Chicago on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre (24 W. Randolph Street).
The first national touring production of Billy Elliot will then be presented in Toronto as part of the 2010/2011 Mirvish Subscription Season. Performances will begin on Friday, January 28, 2011 at the Canon Theatre (244 Victoria Street). Following that, the production will be presented in San Francisco as part of the 2010-2011 SHN Best of Broadway season. Performances will begin on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the Orpheum Theatre (1192 Market Street). Additional details will be announced soon.Billy Elliot will launch a multi-year second national tour in Durham, NC at the Triangle's DPAC from October 30 - November 14, 2010. The tour will continue in Cleveland, OH from November 19 - December 12, 2010; Minneapolis, MN from December 16 - January 9, 2011; Charlotte, NC from January 12 - 30, 2011; Tampa, FL from February 2 - 20, 2011; Houston, TX from February 23 - March 13, 2011; Seattle, WA from March 17 - April 3, 2011; Portland, OR from April 5 - 24, 2011; Tempe, AZ from April 27 - May 8, 2011; Denver, CO from May 11 -June 5, 2011; Dallas, TX from June 8 - July 3, 2011 and St. Louis, MO from August 8 - 28, 2011 with many more cities to be announced.
