The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Foundation presents Musical Theatre Guild's GIRL CRAZY in the Janet & Ray Scherr Forum Theatre at 3:00 p.m. today, June 16, 2013. This performance will conclude the Musical Theatre Guild's 17th season.

Since its Broadway opening in 1930, GIRL CRAZY has dazzled audiences with its gorgeous and toe-tapping score with songs like "Bidin' My Time," "Embraceable You," "Treat Me Rough," "But Not For Me," and "I Got Rhythm." The show made Ginger Rogers a star and marked Ethel Merman's stage debut. Hollywood filmed it three times, most memorably with Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney, and although significant changes were made, it was also the loose basis for the "new" Gershwin musical, Crazy For You. GIRL CRAZY will be directed by Lewis Wilkenfeld with musical direction by Dean Mora.

The opening performance of GIRL CRAZY will take place on Monday, June 10, 2013 at the historic Alex Theatre in Glendale.

The award-winning Musical Theatre Guild, a company of professional performers, has presented concert-staged readings of seldom seen musicals for the past 17 years.

Single tickets are $40 with group discounts available. Tickets are available from Ticketmaster (800-745-3000 or www.ticketmaster.com) or the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Box Office, located at 2100 Thousand Oaks Boulevard.
