A View from the Bridge focuses on Eddie Carbone, a longshoreman by trade, in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn during the 1950s. Eddie is confident of his place in the working-class neighborhood he calls home. That life changes when his wife’s cousins, illegally smuggled into the country, hide out in his home. When his niece Catherine falls in love with one of the cousins, the secrets, suspicions, and jealousies that haunt the family and the community erupt into tragedy. Miller’s powerful and passionate play is as relevant and as moving as ever.
A View from the Bridge performs in Studio 120 in the Theatre Center (TAR) on the TampaUSF campus.
