Traditional dancing is part of the core structure of the Indigenous Australian tradition. The dances tell stories about the community, of the land, of relationships, of the culture and of the people.

This special workshop program presents a rare chance for Indigenous and non-Indigenous students to participate in an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island tradition dance workshop, programmed and delivered by Australia’s national Indigenous tertiary dance college.

Cultural Elders and developing artists from Central Coast based NAISDA Dance College will conduct two half-day workshops in traditional dances from Elcho and Saibai Islands, followed after the final workshop with a matinee presentation to an invited audience.
