Elena Kats-Chernin, Jane Rutter, Tamara-Anna Cislowska Returning by popular demand, three of Australia’s most cherished musicians - artistic director flautist Jane Rutter, pianist Tamara-Anna Cislowska, and composer Elena Kats-Chernin - join forces in Ancient Letters: a spellbinding journey through history, reimagining some of the world’s most intriguing exchanges and written treasures, from the first recorded letter by a young Uzbek woman to intimate writings by Bach, Schubert, Chopin, Colette, Ravel and Jane Austen. In this lyrical return to the Live at Lunch stage - following their acclaimed 2016 performance Unsent Love Letters - the trio reunites to share Kats-Chernin’s stunning original work Ancient Letters, woven with music inspired by her greatest influences, including Tchaikovsky and Michel Legrand. Full of warmth, wit and musical storytelling, this is a heartfelt celebration of words, friendship and the timeless beauty of musical conversation. Program subject to change.
