Grammy-award winning James Ehnes, one of the world’s most sought-after violinists, returns to perform his masterly interpretation of Beethoven’s Violin Concerto with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. James Ehnes will return to Sydney to showcase the globally renowned musician’s virtuosity as he performs Beethoven’s monumental and mesmerising Violin Concerto – one of the greats of the violin repertoire. In this concert, Sydney Symphony Orchestra Chief Conductor Simone Young also conducts Brahms’ First Symphony, a work inspired by Beethoven. Written at the height of his powers, this work not only cemented Brahms as a worthy successor to Beethoven, but also as one of the greatest Romantic composers of all time.
