John Patrick Shanley's Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning play Doubt: A Parable receives a new production at Sydney Theatre Company's Roslyn Packer Theatre, directed by Marion Potts. Set in 1960s New York, the play follows Sister Aloysius, the headmistress of St. Nicholas Church School, who suspects a progressive priest of inappropriate behaviour with a student. Pamela Rabe leads the cast as Sister Aloysius, with Sam Reid making his STC debut as Father Flynn, joined by Zindzi Okenyo and Shannen Alyce Quan. The play premiered off-Broadway in 2004 before winning both the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award for Best Play, and was later adapted into a 2008 film starring Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour-Hoffman.
