2026 NSW Secondary Schools Concerto Competition Final at The Concourse Concert Hall

Six finalists compete in the 42nd annual NSW Secondary Schools Concerto Competition, each performing a selected concerto with the Ku-ring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Artistic Director Paul Terracini. Junior division finalists are Christina Bhang performing the Korngold Violin Concerto and Kiara Morishita-Lee performing the Mozart Flute Concerto. Senior division finalists are Jeffrey Dong performing Chopin Piano Concerto No. 2, Connie Liu performing the Sibelius Violin Concerto, Leon Spikmans performing the Bottesini Double Bass Concerto No. 2, and Jaemin Yoo performing the Bartok Viola Concerto. The competition, open to NSW and ACT secondary school students in years 7–12, offers cash prizes up to $10,000 and has served as a stepping stone for notable Australian musicians including Amy Dickson, Alexander Gavrylyuk, and Simon Tedeschi.
