Smash hit Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular returns to Australia with a brand new show in 2015, performing for the first time in Adelaide and Perth before returning to Sydney where it received a rapturous response from audiences in 2012.

The show will be hosted by fifth doctor Peter Davison. He will take to the stage alongside Daleks, Cybermen and a host of other Doctor Who monsters in this musical celebration of the iconic TV series, which celebrated its 50th anniversary last year.

The new show will feature music from the upcoming new series of Doctor Who and specially edited sequences of Peter Capaldi's debut as the Twelfth Doctor, as well as fan favourites from recent series and classic nostalgic footage.

Composer Murray Gold's captivating scores will be performed by the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, the West Australian Symphony Orchestra at Perth Arena and The Metropolitan Orchestra at the Qantas Credit Union Arena in Sydney. The 2015 tour, which will also perform in Auckland, New Zealand, is brought to audiences by BBC Worldwide Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) in association with AKM.

Murray Gold said: "Audiences will be able to hear the first public performances of music from the Capaldi era, encapsulating the dizzy rush and excitement of a new Doctor."

Peter Davison, said: I had a fantastic time on the Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular Tour in Australia and New Zealand earlier this year. It was great to see audiences so enthralled by the combination of music and the monsters and I can't wait to join you again with this exciting new show. Once again Murray Gold's brilliant compositions are arranged by Ben Foster for full orchestra, and it is fantastic to be able to give audiences the opportunity to hear these pieces played live by your world class musicians."

For fans keen to put their questions to Peter Davison and find out more about how the show is put together, there are Ultimate Fan VIP packages available.

Helen Pendlebury, Head of Live Entertainment, BBC Worldwide ANZ, said: "Following the successful tour of Melbourne, Brisbane and Wellington earlier this year, we're delighted to bring this new production to Australia and take the show to Adelaide and Perth for the first time. Peter Davison was outstanding as a host and we're pleased he is able to join us once more to introduce the music of Doctor Who to new audiences."
