The Department of Music and Theatre at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith has degree programs designed to prepare you for your career. Performance opportunities abound — our student-artists present more than 100 performances a year — yet we maintain a low student-to-faculty ratio so each individual gets the support and guidance they need to thrive. We offer academic programs in music education and music as a liberal art with concentrations in vocal or instrumental music and theatre with concentrations in acting/directing or design. Our innovative teaching methods combine advanced theory with hands-on practice. Every year UAFS Music and Theatre students represent our department at competitions and festivals across the country.
