We are a vibrant and energetic program designed to meet the needs of a diverse student body. Whether you are seeking to gain entrance to a four year music program in the state of Virginia, obtain an Associate’s degree in music, further your own musical abilities and knowledge of music, take private music lessons or to participate in an ensemble, we are here to make music with you. Please explore our website to see how we can help you achieve your musical goals! The Music curriculum includes performance, theory, history, technology, improvisation, and composition. Students will learn practice techniques and utilize them in ensembles, public performances, and teaching. Students learn skills in the following: music theory, music history, composition, notation, improvisation, technology, piano, guitar, voice, sight-singing, ear training, woodwinds, brass, strings, percussion, keyboard, band, orchestra, chorus, jazz ensemble, chamber ensembles, music appreciation, music criticism, aesthetics, analysis, performance, stage presence, music business, recording, mixing, and more.
