The School of Communication, Film & Theatre (CFT) benefits from collaboration and synergy to offer students a multitude of educational and developmental opportunities. Our degrees are among the signature programs on the UNG-Gainesville campus and prepare students for careers in filmmaking, journalism, public relations, organizational leadership, technical theatre, acting, digital media production, and many other related professions. The common thread among our programs is storytelling in all its forms.
CFT’s facilities are among the best in the southeast, and our top-notch professional educators utilize hands-on, individualized training in our state-of-the-art classrooms and labs to ensure students get an undergraduate experience full of opportunity. Our close proximity to Atlanta makes for abundant professional opportunities right in our backyard.
Acceptance Rate:
For programs within the School of Communication, Film, and Theatre at University of North Georgia (UNG) and Brenau University, admission is highly competitive, with B.F.A. programs accepting 12 students per year at UNG and 15 at Brenau, while B.A. programs are capped at 20 at UNG and have no cap at Brenau. Admission to B.F.A. programs requires audition or interview, and students must be accepted into the institution before final acceptance into the theatre program.
