The Sharon Disney Lund School of Dance is one of the nation’s premiere colleges for the professional training of contemporary dance artists. Technical excellence and innovative artistry are the hallmarks of the undergraduate and graduate programs. Concentrated production seasons of aesthetically diverse work thrive in an atmosphere of creative exchange between professionally motivated students and a faculty of practicing artists. Personal creativity combined with mastery of traditional and contemporary styles prepare students for exciting careers in the field of dance.

California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) will celebrate the work of contemporary dance masters at its annual Winter Dance Concert, presented this year at three venues: Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater (REDCAT) in Downtown Los Angeles, Sharon Disney Lund Theater on the CalArts campus, and a special version for children and families at Los Angeles Dance Project's (LADP) creative headquarters in LA's Warehouse District.

REDCAT, CalArts' downtown center for contemporary arts, announces adventurous international and LA performances featured in the ambitious new Fall 2018 season at REDCAT, including stunning stagecraft and object theater from Rotterdam, the world premiere of a new dance and video work by LA company David Rousseve/Reality, a slyly funny and poignant collaboration by German/British collective Gob Squad with six LA performers, a hilarious political musical-theater project by art collective My Barbarian, and the return of Christiane Jatahy with a Brazilian take on Chekhov's Three Sisters, which uses genius film techniques.
Dancing Through College & Beyond Participants Awarded Over $3.4 Million In College Scholarships

Brooklyn-based dance education non-profit Dancewave is pleased to announce that over 65% of the students who participated in the 2017 college dance audition program, Dancing Through College & Beyond (DTCB), have been offered over $3.4 million in scholarships to participating colleges, universities and professional dance programs. Held in October 2017 at the 92nd Street Y, DTCB welcomed more than 300 students from all over the country for an opportunity to explore college dance programs. DTCB includes a college fair, master classes, and panels on health, wellness, careers, and financial aid for all high school dancers and a live audition for high school seniors.
