Bring your musical talent to Alabama State University and prepare for a career as a teacher or professional musician. Our undergraduate degree in music offers concentrations in education and performance.
Your time at ASU starts with an audition and diagnostic exam that tell us about your ability and proficiency. It continues with a program of study that mixes traditional classes, like music theory, history, and aural skills, with private voice or instrument lessons. And it’s bolstered by opportunities to perform with our large ensembles, like band and choir. Faculty, guest artist, and student recitals, along with the opportuniy to attend local and regional performances will enhance your musical experience.

The UConn School of Fine Arts Department of Music will present two performances this week as part of the UConn Music Inspire Series. On Thursday, Oct. 9, Ensemble Origo returns with Saravanda! Dances of New Spain, followed by a solo piano concert by Eric Reed on Friday, Oct. 10, at von der Mehden Recital Hall. Both performances begin at 8 p.m. and tickets are $15.

Rehearsed readings of the musical comedy America's Next Top Kid Chef Showdown by José Casas and Jenn Hartmann Luck will be held on Saturday, June 21, at 7pm and Sunday, June 22, at 2pm at the Provincetown Playhouse, 133 MacDougal St. Whimsical Cosmo Ridley hosts a top-rated kids' cooking show where four young contestants compete for the title of America's best kid chef and a $100,000 prize.
