In 1981 Bernie Bernstein, novice scriptwriter and shoe-size eleven narrow, is broke and having been recently dumped by her cross-dressing boyfriend, brokenhearted. She takes the only job she can get: writing a Bigfoot documentary. Her quest into the woods to discover the truth about the creature includes: a fugitive Weatherman, a Bigfoot expert and his wife, a pregnant Scottish cable-access camera crew, a former psychiatric nurse in Vietnam who has been elected sheriff of Mt Shasta, two entangled FBI agents, and a couple of pothead paramedics. Bernie’s journey to learn the truth about the Sasquatch also uncovers the truth about her baby.
