The University of SC Department of Theatre and Dance is pleased to announce that ticketing for its performances is now available online, effective immediately.

The department has contracted with web-based ticketing company Vendini to facilitate the new online system. Online ticketing will be utilized for theatre and dance performances held at all of the department's venues, including Longstreet Theatre, Drayton Hall Theatre, the Lab Theatre and the Center for Performance Experiment. Dance concerts held at the Koger Center will continue to be offered online through the Koger's online ticketing site (www.kogercenterforthearts.com).

Links to purchase tickets online will be made available on the department's websites, accessible at either theatre.sc.edu or dance.sc.edu, and will be made visible on several pages throughout each site. Online ticketing will also be integrated into the department's Facebook page (www.facebook.com/UofSCTheaDance).

With the updated system, patrons will be able to buy tickets at any time from the comfort of home, or purchase via mobile and tablet devices. In addition, tickets for events will now be available for purchase several weeks prior to each event's run dates. Previously, tickets were only made available one week before each set of run dates, or, for shows at the Lab or CPE venues, only at the door.

Once purchased online, patrons may choose to print their tickets, have them held at the box office, or present tickets at the door on a mobile phone for scanning. All seating will remain general admission. There is no additional charge for purchasing online.

"This new initiative will revolutionize our ability to serve patrons that support the department's theatre and dance programs," says Robert Richmond, Chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance. "It will allows us to sell tickets 24/7 for an entire season and with so much more efficiency."

"I cannot wait to purchase my ticket to The Crucible online," he adds. "It will mark a new year and a new age for the performing arts at USC." Arthur Miller's classic drama, running February 2-10 at Longstreet Theatre, will be the first ever theatre production to be sold online in the program's history.

The department's physical box office presence will still be in operation for all Theatre and Dance "main stage" events (shows performed at either Longstreet Theatre or Drayton Hall Theatre). The physical box office, located at Longstreet Theatre (1300 Greene St.), is open one week before each main stage production run, and is staffed from 12:30pm to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday. The box office can be contacted by phone during these times at 803-777-2551. At-the-door ticketing will still be available at all locations, including the Lab Theatre and the Center for Performance Experiment.
