Electric City Playhouse Features Photography by Craig Johnson, 2/14

By: Feb. 14, 2011

Anderson Artist Guild Member Craig Johnson will be the featured photography artist at the Electric City Playhouse in a show where he hopes to prove that the greatest beauty in life is usually found at home. He believes that one does not need to go to exotic destinations ten times zones away for inspiration, but it doesn't hurt. The ever-changing show, which starts February 14th and will run through March 31st, will include images taken in fifty countries.

It's his goal with his images to teach people to see the abundant beauty in their own worlds. When he takes an image he attempts to compose it as if he was laying out a painting or drawing. As he does not even have a photo-editor on his computer, he tries to capture the essence of real life within his camera.

Craig sees himself as a regular guy who has been allowed to live a magnificent life through no merits of his own. Over the past forty years he has traversed the Panama Canal eight times, written 29 books and wants to leave this world tidier than he found it. His pictures represent an eye and skill level only earned through decades of experience and extensive experimentation. The show is free to the public and the Electric City Playhouse is open from 9AM until 2PM Monday through Friday. All of his pieces are for sale with a portion of the proceeds going towards construction of the new Electric City Playhouse. For more information please call (864) 224-4248 or email info@ecplayhouse.com.
