Nettle Creek Players Headlines July Wayne County Weekends

Heart of Hagerstown, a 501c3 not-for-profit Indiana Main Street organization, will present The Nettle Creek Players Summer Stock Tent Theatre Festival, a weekend-long music theatre festival and the third in a series of Wayne County Weekend events sponsored by the Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce. The Weekend begins on Thursday, July 20 with a performance of the classic Broadway musical "The Fantasticks" at the Nettle Creek Players Show Tent at 55 W. Main Street in downtown Hagerstown. In addition to the performances continuing Friday, July 2, Hartley Hills Golf Club, 201 N Country Club Rd. just off Indiana State Highway 1, will also offer a $15 Special for 9 holes of golf, cart included. On Saturday, July 22, there will be a Heart of Hagerstown information booth and Passport game with prizes and give-aways, downtown merchants offering specials and discounts with extended hours, the unveiling of the Nettle Creek Players Hall of Fame inductees, and a full day of theatre beginning with 2 $5 Family Matinees of "Thumbelina" and finishing with an evening performance of "The Fantasticks." The Weekend concludes on Sunday, July 23 with a matinee performance of the musical revue "Broadway on Main Street." 1pm-7pm: Hagerstown Passport Game, Give-Aways & Prizes
1pm-7pm: Heart of Hagerstown (HOH) booth will offer information and memberships at a tent on Main Street
4pm-7pm: Tours of the Hagerstown Museum
5pm: Presentation of Nettle Creek Players Hall of Fame Inductees at the Tent
7:30pm - "The Fantasticks" Broadway Musical at the Show Tent
SUNDAY, July 23 -
2pm - "Broadway on Main Street" Musical Revue at the Show Tent
This is the third of four scheduled events designed as part of the Wayne County Weekends program sponsored by the Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce. Hagerstown will participate on the third weekend of each month from May to August. The final event of the series will be Hagerstown Jubilee Days in August.
