Civic Theatre Presents AUNTIE MAME, 5/6-5/22

By: Mar. 11, 2011

South Bend Civic Theatre will present Jerome Lawrence & Robert E. Lee's classic comedy Auntie Mame, directed by Mary Hubbard, will play the Wilson Mainstage Auditorium on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from May 6 to May 22.

Before the musical "Mame" came along, the play had already won a huge following. This contemporary American classic was more than a Broadway hit and the basis for the popular musical - it set a standard for comic excellence we still strive to achieve on the stage. Auntie Mame - wildly carefree, witty and delightfully spirited - suddenly finds herself the permanent guardian for young Patrick. Raising him in her own unique fashion amidst her parties, world travels and eccentric life-choices is an adventure that is as funny as it is charming.

Purchase tickets for Auntie Mame and South Bend Civic Theatre's other shows by visiting the box office, by calling (574) 234-1112 or by visiting www.sbct.org. Tickets are $17 for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and $14 for Wednesdays. The Civic Theatre is located at 403 N. Main St. Visit www.sbct.org to learn more about the Civic Theatre.
