Actors Community Theatre will Present 30th Anniversary Production of YOUNG ABE LINCOLN

Actors Community Theatre of Jasper, Indiana has announced the 30th anniversary production of Young Abe Lincoln on the Lincoln Amphitheatre stage in Lincoln City for six performances only beginning July 6 at 7pm. Directed by Jasmine Ruckriegel, the remarkable story of a young Abraham Lincoln will be brought to life for the first time since 2005. Set in the woods of his boyhood home, Young Abe Lincoln is a playful musical tale chronicling the events that shaped our 16th president as he grew up in Southern Indiana. This production of Young Abe Lincoln is based on the original Billy Edd Wheeler script.

With set design and choreography by Tyler Smith and lighting and sound design by Jason Kleiman, this production is being brought to life for the first time since 2005. Actors Community Theatre is thrilled to be bringing back alumni from the original 1987-2005 run. Returning this year are Matthew Herrmann as Young Abe (1992-1998 seasons), RAndy Murray as Tunker (1991-1993 seasons), Bud Schaaf as Mr. Brooner, Tom Sparrow, and Mr. Gentry (1987-1996 and 2000-2002 seasons), Camille Woolston as Sally (2004 season), and Dean Dorrell as President Lincoln (2001-2005 seasons).

Said director Jasmine Ruckriegel, "We're thrilled to bring Billy Edd Wheeler's script to life with this powerhouse ensemble. We've pulled together a great cast of Lincoln alumni, ACT alumni, and new actors, allowing us to learn from one another and grow as an ensemble." She continued, "It's a special experience to tell the tale of Abraham Lincoln's life, and we all feel a strong sense of duty to share this incredible story and continue to share the legacy of Lincoln's life in Indiana."

This heartwarming musical is sure to delight audiences of all ages. Young Abe Lincoln will be performed Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, July 6-15, at 7pm (CT).
