THE GREAT S.A. BURLESQUE EXPRESS Rides Into to the Alexander Upstairs This Weekend
THE GREAT S.A. BURLESQUE EXPRESS in action

Black Orchid returns to the Alexander Upstairs with THE GREAT S.A. BURLESQUE EXPRESS, a show that promises more burlesque than audiences can shake a tailfeather at! After six years, the train trip of titillating trouble and tease stops in Cape Town once again-this time to celebrate Black Orchid Burlesque's 10th Birthday.

In THE GREAT S.A. BURLESQUE EXPRESS, audiences should expect nothing "butt" the "breast" performers to have graced local burlesque stages, with phenomenal displays of both classic and neo-burlesque from King St. Fox, Betty Behave, Bon Bon, Sophia von Syren and more. Once again hosted by the notorious Professor DD Boobs, THE GREAT S.A. BURLESQUE EXPRESS promises to be at its bawdiest in this a sexy little soiree that promises to get everyone swinging into the new year with a smile on your faces.

Black Orchid has strived to bring nothing but the most authentic burlesque and boylesque they can offer a South African audience. Diva Disastar is not only the headmistress of Black Orchid's Burlesque Academy but also fondly dubbed South Africa's Original Dame of Burlesque. Having performed across the country and abroad, this bawdy performer has been a key player in the development and encouragement of the art form in South Africa. Supported by her phenomenal other half, King St. Fox, there is no telling what this dynamic duo will produce next.

THE GREAT S.A. BURLESQUE EXPRESS runs from 12 - 13 January at 21:00 nightly. Tickets are available from the Alexander Bar website, with seats costing R150 if booked and prepaid online or R160 if paid on collection at the bar. For telephone enquiries, call 021 300 1652. The Alexander Bar, Café and Theatre is situated at 76 Strand Street in the Cape Town city centre and can be followed on Facebook and Twitter. Beware: the front row is a "splash zone", so audiences set down their cabooses in this area at their own peril!
