Last Poet Presents JOBURG MEETS CAPE TOWN POETRY SHOWCASE at the Alexander Upstairs

Brought together by Luxolo Ngqunge (aka Last Poet), JOBURG MEETS CAPE TOWN POETRY SHOWCASE is an unmissable opportunity to connect to the hottest voices in the Johannesburg poetry scene with audiences in Cape Town.

Hosted by Evile Manqoba with Nkunzi-101, this 90-minute explosion of talent features Xabiso Vili, Blaze The Poet, Thapelo Naked Soul, Kagiso Tshepe (Ellysium Garcia), Bonga Ndziweni, Mnqobi Da Zulu Poet, Fikile Fifi and Roach.

Luxolo "Last Poet" Ngqunge hails from the dusty streets of Motherwell near Port Elizabeth. A poet who is famous for his piece titled "Blood, Sweat and Tears", he has made appearances on SHIZNIZ for Red Pepper Studios and Switch TV for Bubblegum Productions. As an actor, he is well known for his role of Kwanele, the corrupt security guard on SKEEM SAAM on SABC 1. He will be making his debut film appearance in the international feature, THE WOUND. As an events coordinator and promoter, he has found a home in both Cape Town and Johannesburg's poetry scenes, hosting numerous events under his poetry movement Rhythm 'N Poetry, which has featured several South African poetry veterans such as Afurakan, Koleka Putuma, Donald Neosapien and Pilgrim.

JOBURG MEETS CAPE TOWN POETRY SHOWCASES takes place at the Alexander Upstairs on 15 July at 14:00. Tickets, costing R30, are available from the Alexander Bar website.
