The Mother City's only magical arts organisation, the College of Magic, welcomed the Jive Cape Town Funny Festival's international stars Paul Dabek and Captain Frodo for a special visit to its mysterious Victorian manor in Claremont on Saturday 29 July 2017.

Home to the College of Magic's more than 200 students who immerse themselves in learning the art of magic and its allied arts as they go about their weekly lessons, the Manor is a hive of activity on Saturday mornings. This past Saturday was the first day of magic lessons after the winter school holiday and the presence of UK magician Dabek and Norway's Frodo added to the charming experience.

The artists, who are currently onstage at the Baxter Theatre wowing audiences with their shadow puppetry and contortionist skills respectively, took time out of their busy schedules to sit in on some of the students' lessons.

In addition to getting a peek behind the wizard's curtain in the puppetry, juggling, close-up magic and stage magic classes, the international duo embarked on a whirlwind tour of the College's century old mansion with a quick stop into the Magic Shop and Africa's largest magic museum.

Celebrating 37 years of teaching the art of magic and its allied arts as well as vital life-skills to children and adults in 2017, the College of Magic, an internationally renowned non-profit organisation and the only one of its kind in the world, regularly hosts International Artists, for visits and guest lectures at its charming Victorian mansion:

"It's always such an honour for us to welcome international performers to our magical arts centre. We're thrilled to have had Paul and Captain Frodo drop by to impart some hard-earned entertainment tips and wisdom to our students and inspire our youngsters with their successes in the professional entertainment world. Thank you to Paul, Frodo and the Jive Cape Town Funny Festival for visiting us!", says director David Gore.

The Jive Cape Town Funny Festival runs at the Baxter Theatre in Rondebosch until Sunday 6 August, 2017. Please visit www./eddycassar.co.za/funnyfestivalfor more information about the Festival.
