Judith Sephuma Will Perform in Concert at Emperors Palace
The South African vocalist will perform Afro Jazz and gospel works at Theatre of Marcellus
South African vocalist Judith Sephuma will return to the stage with a powerful and deeply personal production titled Judith Sephuma Live in Concert, taking place on 4 July 2026 at the iconic Theatre of Marcellus, Emperors Palace.
This specially curated two-hour concert promises an unforgettable musical journey that brings together her much-loved Afro Jazz repertoire, selections from her gospel catalogue, music from her recent album When Winter Fades — which was nominated for Best Jazz Album at the Metro FM Awards — as well as brand-new gospel songs that mark an exciting new creative chapter.
Judith Sephuma has built a distinguished career as one of South Africa's most respected and versatile voices, seamlessly moving between Afro Jazz and gospel expressions over the years. While she has continued to evolve artistically within Afro Jazz, she acknowledges that her gospel work remains an important part of her musical offering — something her fans have consistently called for her to revisit.
“Since my My Worship project in 2017, I have not returned to gospel in a dedicated way, even though I continue to receive messages from fans asking for it,” she says. “I have heard those requests, and this concert is my way of responding — by bringing everything together in one experience.”
Judith Sephuma Live in Concert is therefore a celebration of her full musical journey — revisiting timeless Afro Jazz favourites, sharing music from When Winter Fades, and introducing new gospel material in a live setting for the very first time in years.
