Comedian Stuart Taylor Returns To Cape Town With New Show At Baxter Theatre

Fresh from making his first feature film début in the South African comedy drama, Finders Keepers, earlier in August this year, 2018 sees comedian Stuart Taylor returning to the Cape Town stage with his hilarious new offering, Funny You Should Say That.

The stand-up comedian, entertainer and actor will usher the New Year in style, with a limited two-week run in the very intimate Golden Arrow Studio at the iconic Baxter Theatre in The Mother City next month.

Comedy fans are in for a massive treat as the Grassy Park-born Taylor prepares to showcase his latest solo stage offering - his first comedy show in three years.

"It's been a while since I've done a one-man show. So I'm really excited about doing a full hour of brand new material in my hometown," he says.

Taylor is a perennial Cape Town favourite and his new show promises more of his hit-the-nail-on-the-head comic musings that will have you laughing out loud.

Adds Taylor: "Developing the material in the comedy clubs over the past few months has been a blast for me. I turned 40 recently, so I guess this show is my version of a 'mid-life crisis'! I find that my tolerance for BS has gone down with age, so this show is about me being uncensored, saying what I want to say, and hoping y'all find my comic musing hilarious."

Funny You Should Say That is directed by the multi-talented award-winning theatre director and comic, Rob van Vuuren - and promises to deliver all the laughs and punchlines to get your 2018 in a great mood.

"I have never played the Golden Arrow Studio before, so this will be a first for me. Seeing as the venue is such an intimate space, it will lend itself very well to this show."

Funny You Should Say That kicks off at the Baxter Theatre from 22 January until 3 February 2018.

Tickets for this much-anticipated show can be purchased via Computicket at either www.computicket.com or via Checkers and Shoprite retail stores, countrywide, and are priced at R120 (Monday to Thursday shows) and R150 (weekends).
