The title song of Chantal's new Album 'Scars' was written just after Knysna experienced horrific fires last year. There was a lot of media coverage around the fire and its devastation, but several weeks later the reporting slowed and the story eventually vanished...but the people affected had not and Chantal wondered what they were still going through. The song itself speaks to the scars we all carry. Some are shared, others are highly personal, but we all put on a smile and carry on because life goes on.
The show is directed by Godfrey Johnson. With six-time Fleur du Cap nominations and numerous awards under his belt, Godfrey Johnson is one of South Africa's leading performing artists, with a singular reputation as a Cabaret Artist, Composer, Writer and Director.
In the Fleur Du Cap's 2015 nominations, Johnson became the first South African artist to be included in the following three categories:
- Best Actor in a Musical
- Best Performer in a One-Person Show
- Best Composer.
