Cape Town City Ballet to Present Three Ballets for the Festive Season, Dec 11-Jan 11

Cape Town City Ballet will be presenting a bumper programme during the festive season, with no less than three exciting ballets running at Artscape from 11 December 2013 to 11 January 2014.

The Tin Soldier, a brand new ballet, based on Hans Christian Andersen's popular fairy tale of a tin soldier's love for a paper ballerina guarantees perfect family entertainment during the holiday season. Choreographed by Cape Town City Ballet's artistic director Robin van Wyk, it is set to the beautiful music of Alexander Glazunov. The Tin Soldier will be presented from 11 - 24 Dec 2013.

Belles and Beaux of the Ballet presents an exquisite selection of beautiful scenes from a host of favourite ballets. From 18 - 22 Dec 2013 the star ballerinas and danseurs of Cape Town City Ballet will perform some of the most enticing roles in the ballet repertoire in this programme.

Night & Day offers the perfect way to bid farewell to 2013 and welcome the start of the New Year. This irresistible tribute to legendary songwriter, Cole Porter, is a delight of memorable tunes and lavish costumes with elements of jazz, tap dance and cabaret. A truly sophisticated and entertaining ballet, it is runs from 31 Dec 2013 - 11 Jan 2014.
