KLARA MAAS SE HART IS GEBREEK, ENSOMEER:
DIE VLOEISTOF TRILOGIE at the Alexander Upstairs

The Alexander Bar's intimate Upstairs Theatre will host the Wessel Pretorius and David Viviers production, KLARA MAAS SE HART IS GEBREEK, ENSOMEER: DIE VLOEISTOF TRILOGIE, this July. Written and directed by Pretorius, the hour-long Afrikaans presentation is an anthology of a trio of theatrical tales.

In KLARA MAAS SE HART IS GEBREEK, ENSOMEER: DIE VLOEISTOF TRILOGIE, two commedia dell'arte-styled travelling players sketch out three stories: the biography of a tear, a love triangle between a matador, a mantle and a bull and a legendary night of passion. The first of these three stories formed part of the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival's first Uikampteater project last year and was awarded the Kanna for best debut work. The two new stories complete this trilogy.

KLARA MAAS SE HART IS GEBREEK, ENSOMEER: DIE VLOEISTOF TRILOGIE runs at the Alexander Upstairs from 24 - 29 July at 21:00 nightly. Tickets are available from the Alexander Bar website, with seats costing R100 if booked and prepaid online or R110 if paid on collection at the bar. For telephone enquiries, call 021 300 1652. The Alexander Bar, Café and Theatre is situated at 76 Strand Street in the Cape Town city centre and can be followed on Facebook and Twitter.
