DANGLED is multiple award-winning writer Louis Viljoen's adaptation of Nikolai Gogol's short story "Diary of a Madman". Performed by Rob van Vuuren, himself the winner of numerous accolades, the show debuted to rave reviews last year. BroadwayWorld's David Fick called the play "genius in action" in his piece on the production's Cape Town Fringe season last October.

A dark psychosexual horror comedy exploring themes of sexual violence, verisimilitude and the creative process, DANGLED is the first collaboration between Van Vuuren (THE THREE LITTLE PIGS, A DOLL'S HOUSE) and Viljoen (THE PERVERT LAURA, THE KINGMAKERS) and promises to disturb, entertain and terrify in equal measure. Viljoen describes DANGLED as 'a story about a madman written for one of the maddest men I know.' Van Vuuren describes the play as 'SHIRLEY VALENTINE meets Steven Berkoff on tik.' The production is designed by Rocco Poole.

DANGLED runs from 28 February - 2 March at 19:00. Tickets are available from the Alexander Bar website, costing R90 if booked and prepaid online or R100 if paid on collection at the bar. For telephone enquiries, call 021 300 1652. The Alexander Bar, Café and Theatre is situated at 76 Strand Street in the Cape Town city centre and can be followed on Facebook and Twitter.
