Sioux Empire Community Theatre to Stage THE SOUND OF MUSIC, 4/30-5/16

Sioux Empire Community Theatre will present 'The Sound of Music' from Apr. 30 - May 2, 2010 May 7 - 9, 2010 May 14 - 16, 2010.

The 50th Anniversary Production!

The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein was destined to become the world's most beloved musical. When a postulant named Maria proves too high-spirited for the religious life, she is dispatched to serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval Captain. Her growing rapport with the youngsters, coupled with her generosity of spirit, gradually captures the heart of the stern Captain and the entire Von Trapp family in one of the most thrilling and inspirational true life stories ever put on stage. This audience favorite includes such timeless hits as: My Favorite Things, Do-Re-Mi, Sixteen Going on Seventeen, Edelweiss, the show-stopping Climb Ev'ry Mountain and of course the title song The Sound Of Music.

Performances are Friday, April 30th thru Sunday, May 2nd, Friday, May 7th thru Sunday, May 9th, Friday, May 14th thru Sunday, May 16th, 2010. Performance times are Friday and Saturday 8 p.m. and Sunday 2 p.m.

Tickets cost $20 and go on sale to the general public April 19. Box office hours at the Orpheum Theater box office are Monday-Saturday noon - 5 p.m. Purchase tickets in person at the box office, call 360-4800, or online through a link on our home page.
