Once upon a time, famous fairy tale characters wandered outside their limits in the land of make believe and discovered what happens when wishes really do come true -- at the Farmington Players Barn.  Into The Woods, the Tony award winning musical (Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, Book by James Lapine) opens Friday April 27th with a special opening night event dedicated to helping the "Make-A-Wish Foundation."  Tickets are available at www.farmingtonplayers.org and also at the box office: 248-553-2955

On Friday, August 5th, the students of Broadway Artists Alliance received a visit from Tony Award winner, Jessie Mueller. She charmed them from the first moment when she sat down for her interview and rescued an eyelash from Artistic Director Jennifer Johns' cheek so that she could make a wish. Friends in Theater Company and State of Play Productions' THE SECRET GARDEN, a Broadway benefit for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, presented the first of two sold-out performances last night, January 11, at 7:30 p.m. at the Lucille Lortel Theater. The fully staged production, directed/choreographed by Curtis Holbrook, was led by Rebecca Luker as Lily, Gabriella Pizzolo as Mary, and Bradley Dean as Archie with Tom Deckman, Ali Ewoldt, Frances Mercanti-Anthony, Bill Nolte, Eli Tokash, Max von Essen, and Cortney Wolfson. Additionally, composer Lucy Simon and original cast member Daisy Egan co-hosted the night. Tori Murray, the young star of Off-Broadway's smash hit musical RUTHLESS!, recently attended the 17th annual Nickelodeon HALO Awards at Pier 36 in New York City. The HALO Awards honor teens that are making a difference and Justin Bieber was this year's recipient of the first ever HALO Hall of Fame Award for his work with Make-A-Wish. Hollywood's exciting and talented new charity-­?based play reading series, The Spare Change Series, will be presenting their next staged reading of Noel Coward's 'Design for Living' to benefit The Make-­A-­Wish Foundation. The production will take place on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 7pm at the Art of Acting Studio, located at 1017 N. Orange Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90038. The entire evening will be donation based, and all proceeds will be given to Make-­A-­Wish.

Celebrity guests recently mentored children from the Garden of Dreams Foundation in rehearsals for the upcoming Talent Show performance at Radio City Music Hall on April 16. R&B pop phenomenon Mindless Behavior, Miss USA Nana Meriwether, model Damaris Lewis, hip hop pioneer and talent show creative director Darryl 'DMC' McDaniels, Broadway star Tony Vincent (American Idiot, NBC's 'The Voice'), The Rockettes and Knicks City Dancers watched and listen as the kids rehearsed their singing, dancing, and/or hip hop acts.
