TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its 51st season with the hit musical Ragtime. This sweeping and stirring musical masterpiece paints a portrait of America at the dawn of the twentieth century, interweaving the lives of three families—an African American family, a Jewish Immigrant family, and a wealthy white family—finding their places and pursuing the American Dream in a rapidly changing world. Featuring a Tony Award-winning book by Pulitzer Prize finalist Terrence McNally (Master Class, Kiss of the Spider Woman, The Rink) and a Tony Award-winning score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens (Once on This Island, Anastasia, Seussical The Musical), this musical is based on E. L. Doctorow’s best-selling novel of the same name. Ragtime will be presented June 1-26, 2022 (press opening: June 4) at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts. Frank Sinatra loved to play along with the TV game show Jeopardy. Here's a Jeopardy question .....What little boy in Chicago, used to shine shoes in taverns while a jukebox in the background played Sinatra tunes and then became Frank Sinatra's opening act on tour for 14 years? He was also MC and pallbearer at Mr. Sinatra's funeral.

 Fan & Friends presents THE KINDNESS PROJECT, a work-in-progress presentation by Mabou Mines' 2015-2016 Resident Artist Chongren Fan, at the Flamboyan Theater at Clemente Soto Velez Cultural Center (107 Suffolk St, New York, New York 10002), on Thursday, June 2nd at 5:30pm and Friday, June 3rd at 8:30pm. Broadway fans had plenty of reasons to celebrate this year, with dozens of shows having opened since January, hundreds of actors having made their debuts, and many more having returned to the stage for critically acclaimed performances. Not all news was good though, as we also suffered a loss of an incredible amount of talent. Below, BroadwayWorld sends a fond farewell to those who passed away in 2014.

Lincoln Center is the largest contiguous performing arts center in the United States. Included in the complex are concert, dance, education, commercial and theatre spaces. The newest venue is the Claire Tow Theatre, a two-story, 23,000 square-foot space built on the roof of the Vivian Beaumont Theatre. The space includes the theatre, rehearsal and office space, and a lobby that opens onto an outdoor terrace surrounded by a new green roof with views of the rejuvenated Lincoln Center Plaza.

Surflight Theatre, under the leadership of Executive Director Ken Myers presents the 1920s musical comedy The Boy Friend, from May 25 through June 16. Check out a first look at the cast in action, below!

Respect La Diva, conceived and directed by AdrIan Grant, the creator of hit international show Thriller Live, will arrive at the Garrick Theatre for a strictly limited run from 7 September until 24 September, with press night on 8 September.
