Red Bull Theater begins performances tonight Tuesday March 19th for John Webster's The White Devil at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street between Bleecker & Hudson Streets). Opening Night is set for March 31st. The limited Off-Broadway engagement will continue through April 14th.

Behold the year of the woman: 1665. Folger Theatrecontinues its 2018/19 season of characters who 'shake the world' with Nell Gwynn, the Olivier Award-winning 2016 comedy from London about one of the first women to perform on the English stage. Written by British playwright Jessica Swale (Blue Stockings), Nell Gwynn was commissioned by Shakespeare's Globe where it premiered, followed by a celebrated 2016 run on the West End that earned an Olivier Award for Best New Comedy. Robert Richmond (Macbeth, Timon of Athens, Henry V at the Folger) will direct the East Coast premiere of the play at Folger Theatre in Washington, D.C.

Watford Palace Theatre presents Arthur Miller's play Broken Glass, which opens 80 years after the events of Kristallnacht, leading up to the Second World War. Richard Beecham directs Charlotte Emerson (Sylvia Gellburg), Clara Francis (Harriet), Andrew Hall (Stanton Case) Michael Higgs (Dr Harry Hyman), Rebecca Lacey (Margaret Hyman) and Michael Matus (Philip Gellburg). Broken Glass opens at Watford Palace Theatre on 6 March, with previews from 1 March and runs until 24 March.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater presents Arthur Miller's The Price, which has been extended to receive an additional week of performances due to popular demand. Three-time Emmy Award winner Hal Linden, known for his portrayal of the title character in the hit television series Barney Miller and his Tony Award-winning performance in Broadway's The Rothschilds, stars as Gregory Solomon under the direction of Deputy Artistic Director Seema Sueko. Miller and music direction by Porchlight Artistic Associate Linda Madonia at Porchlght's new home, the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn Street. Previews are Friday, Oct. 6 and Oct. 13 at 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 7 and Oct. 14 at 8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 8 at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. Opening night is Sunday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. The regular run performance schedule is Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 6 p.m. (October 22, October 29 and November 5) and at 2 p.m. (November 12 and 19) with an open captioned performance, Saturday, Oct. 28 at 4 p.m. and a weekday matinee Thursday, Nov. 16 at 1:30 p.m. Please note: there is no 7:30 p.m. performance Thursday, Nov. 16. The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team for William Shakespeare's exhilarating tragedy Hamlet, one of the greatest plays ever written. The Globe's Erna Finci Viterbi Artistic Director Barry Edelstein returns to the outdoor festival stage, with a cast featuring some of the nation's finest classical actors, to bring Shakespeare's iconic play to life. Revenge thriller, ghost story, psychological drama, political epic, and family saga, all packed in one, with unforgettable characters, theatrical masterstrokes, and world-famous lines. The Prince of Denmark comes home from college to find his father dead, his mother remarried to his uncle, and a spine-chilling apparition roaming the palace grounds. Hamlet plays August 6 - September 10, 2017, in the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre. Previews run August 6-11, with opening night on Saturday, August 12 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets start at $30 and are on sale now to the general public.

Folger Theatre concludes its very successful 25th anniversary season this spring with Shakespeare's gripping tragedy Timon of Athens. Directed by Robert Richmond (Othello, Henry V, Richard III), this rarely produced satire examining wealth, false friendships, and the abuse of generosity features Helen Hayes Award-winner Ian Merrill Peakes (Macbeth, Othello, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead) in the title role. Actor Richard Thomas will host Westport Country Playhouse's 2016 Gala "The Night They Invented Champagne: Celebrating Lerner & Loewe" on Monday evening, September 19.  Performing the music of the legendary Broadway composing team will be artists Britney Coleman, Kristen Hahn, Robert Sean Leonard, Stephen Mark Lukas, Howard McGillin, Ciara Renee, Mary Testa, Richard Troxell, Max von Essen, Nicholas Ward, and members of the New York Theatre Ballet.  Gala Director is Chase Brock, with musical direction by Mary-Mitchell Campbell.
