Following the phenomenal success of The Agatha Christie Theatre Company, which sold approximately two million tickets over a decade of first class productions, comes a new chapter from Bill Kenwright's Classic Thriller Theatre Company.
'The Wizard of Oz,' presented by Harlem Repertory Theater (HRT) and Yip Harburg Foundation, will not close December 16. It has been extended through January 13, 2018 due to continuing and steady audience interest. The production has played since October 8, 2016 at Tato Laviera Theatre, 240 East 123rd Street (near 2nd Ave.), Manhattan, and has previously been extended three times.
Production images are today released for the UK premiere of Will Eno's award-winning play The Open House, directed by former Artistic Director of the RSC, Michael Boyd. The production will run at the Ustinov Studio until Saturday 23 December, with opening night for press on Wednesday 29 November. It will then transfer to London from 18 January 17 February 2018, playing at Notting Hill's Print Room at the Coronet.
Julianne Boyd, artistic director of Barrington Stage Co. announced that the BSC/NYC sold out Benefit recently held at the Friars Club was the theatre company's most successful New York City event to date having raised $125,000 for the 2018 New Works Initiative. The evening featured performances by BSC actors and the presenting of the William Finn Award for Excellence in Musical Theatre to Joe Iconis.
Patrick Hamilton's mystery thriller Gaslight will be opening Oct 8th on the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage at Barrington Stage Company. BroadwayWorld was there for the curtain call at a recent preview.
