The New-York Historical Society held their annual History Makers Gala on November 6 at 583 Park in New York. This year's honorees included New-York Historical Trustee Dr. H.M. Agnes Hsu-Tang, who received the New-York Historical Society Medal of Merit for Public Engagement; Harry Potter editor Arthur A. Levine, who received the New-York Historical Society Distinguished Service Award; and world-renowned entertainer and celebrated Harry Potter audiobook voice actor Jim Dale, who received the 2018 History Makers Award in recognition of the exhibition Harry Potter: A History of Magic, now on view at New-York Historical.

Book-It Repertory Theatre brings magic, adventure, and inspiration this holiday season with Howl's Moving Castle, a new musical based on an original book by Diana Wynne Jones. Founding Co-Artistic Director Myra Platt has adapted and will direct the musical stage adaptation of the award-winning fantasy novel that features music and lyrics by local performer Justin Huertas. The Old Laundry Theatre's revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Alan Ayckbourn's light-hearted, fun musical BY JEEVES, led by Bill Champion and Nadim Naaman, runs now through Saturday 4 November 2017. New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players, America's preeminent professional Gilbert & Sullivan repertory company, begins its exciting 2017-18 Season on Friday, September 15 (7:30PM) with a new jewel box production of The Sorcerer, celebrating its 140th anniversary this year. The production will be staged at Off-Broadway's intimate Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater (10 West 64th Street). The strictly limited engagement will play September 15 - 17. Ballet Philippines (BP), the country's flagship classical and contemporary dance company, stages Tchaikovsky's best-loved ballet SWAN LAKE anew at the Cultural Center of the Philippines' (CCP) Main Theatre, now through March 5, 2017. This new production marks the 140th anniversary of the show's premiere.
