LA MIRADA THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS & McCOY RIGBY ENTERTAINMENT are delighted to present the second show of its 2016-2017 season:  Davis Gaines starring in the hilarious comedy LEND ME A TENOR, written by Ken Ludwig and directed by Art Manke.  LEND ME A TENOR will preview on Friday, October 21, 2016 (with a press opening on Saturday, October 22) and run through Sunday, November 13, 2016 at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, 14900 La Mirada Blvd in La Mirada.   

With the aim of inspiring performance and recognizing the importance of musical theater and arts education in Northeast Ohio high schools, Playhouse Square proudly held its inaugural Dazzle Awards ceremony on Saturday, May 21. The Dazzle Awards are affiliated with the National High School Musical Theatre Awards ("The Jimmy Awards") presented by The Broadway League Foundation.

The women took the center stage last night at The Ladies Who Sing Sondheim- a gala benefit for Off-Broadway's esteemed Classic Stage Company. The evening was and directed by Tony Award winner John Doyle, who will become the company's new Artistic Director in July.  The evening included performances from Sondheim's canon by Patti LuPone (Gypsy), Victoria Clark (The Light in the Piazza), Cynthia Erivo (The Color Purple), Joaquina Kalukango (The Color Purple), Judy Kuhn (Fun Home, CSC's Passion), Marin Mazzie (Kiss Me, Kate) and Alexandra Silber(Fiddler on the Roof). San Diego Musical Theatre announces the final production of their 2012 season Irving Berlin'S WHITE CHRISTMAS, December 13-23, 2012 (press opening on December 14) at the Birch North Park Theatre. Based on the beloved, timeless film, this heartwarming musical adaption features seventeen Irving Berlinsongs. Trevor Nunn directs the Old Vic and Chichester Festival Theatre's production of Kiss Me, Kate, with Music and lyrics by Cole Porter and Book by Sam and Bella Spewack, which is scheduled for London performances from 1 December followed by a Chichester premiere on 27 June 2012. Ghostlight Records released the long-awaited cast recording of Carrie: The Musical yesterday, September 25, 2012, preserving the recent MCC Theater (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) Off-Broadway revival. Just yesterday, the cast gathered at Barnes & Noble to celebrate the release with a special performance and CD signing. On May 20, 2012, #1 Entertainment presented Waiting For More, an evening of new American Musical Theatre writing with a special guest performance by Bobby Cronin, whose shows 'Daybreak' and 'Concrete Jungle' are currently being premiered here in London. Bobby performed songs from both Concrete Jungle and Daybreak with current cast members, James Darch, Tash Holloway and Kayleigh Lousie Smith, as well as performing a song himself.
