The Art of Living Photos - West End

I have visited Laguna Beach for several consecutive summers, enjoying the vibrant arts scene by spending a full day wandering through THE SAWDUST FESTIVAL, THE LAGUNA ART A-FAIR, FESTIVAL OF ARTS and PAGEANT OF THE MASTERS, with all sites, including the Laguna Playhouse, within walking distance of each on the main street into the city. The beautiful coastal city has so much to offer in the way of fine dining, art galleries, shopping, theatre, beach activities, all accessible via a free shuttle service, it would easily make for a wonderful week-long family vacation site or a jam-packed day of celebrating the arts.

Composer Thea Musgrave is celebrating these days. It's not just that she's marking her 90th birthday on May 27 with a concert in New York, but that the concert is showcasing a gaggle of world premieres, US premieres and NY premieres (along with more familiar works), which highlight her rich musical vocabulary and keen sense of drama.

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presented the Original Broadway cast in Legs Diamond 30th Anniversary Reunion Concert on Sunday, December 3 at 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm. The concert is being produced and directed by original cast member Jonathan Cerullo and associate producer Carol Baxter. After a critically acclaimed, sold-out run in the spring, The Hinterlands will once again present their original and explosive site-specific work The Radicalization Process for a limited run this fall. The Radicalization Process will be performed from Fri. Sept. 23-Sat. Oct. 1 (Wednesdays through Saturdays) at 8PM and Sundays Sept. 25 and Oct. 2 at 2PM at Play House (12657 Moran Street, Detroit). The American Repertory Theater of WNY's 2014-15 season wraps up with an one-act showcase entitled RUST BELT GROTESQUE with darker regional historical tales of murderers, rapists, a Vaudevillian performer's fall from grace and incredibly dumb brothers. Featured writers include Artie Award nominee for Best Original Work, Justin Karcher, Artie Award for Best Original Work, Matthew LaChiusa being joined by acclaimed writers Mark C LLoyd and James Marzo.

TheatreWorks of Silicon Valley is set to present the West Coast Premiere of THE PITMEN PAINTERS, from the writer of the hit film and musical Billy Elliot and the co-writer of the period drama screenplay War Horse.
