Abingdon Theatre Company, under the artistic direction of Tony Speciale, presents the world premiere of CHESS MATCH NO. 5, conceived and directed by Anne Bogart, with text arranged by Jocelyn Clarke from the words of John Cage. Created by SITI Company, CHESS MATCH NO. 5 began previews March 9, with an official press opening March 19, in Abingdon's June Havoc Theatre (312 West 36th Street).

The Lower Depth Theatre Ensemble presents the West Coast premiere of ELMINA'S KITCHEN, written by award-winning playwright Kwame Kwei-Armah, directed by Gregg T. Daniel. This gut-wrenching drama is set in the notorious "Murder Mile" section of London's East End. ELMINA'S KITCHEN examines the bitter clash of values between three generations of black men and its effect on their family and community. The play runs August 11 through September 9. The Obie Award-winning New Paradise Laboratories and The Riot Group present the New York Premiere of Freedom Club, written by Adriano Shaplin and directed by Whit MacLaughlin. Freedom Club runs from January 6 - 15, 2011, as part of the APAP Conference 2011, at the Connelly Theater, located at 220 East 4th Street between Avenues A and B in NYC.

DOG AND WOLF - a new play by Catherine Filloux about the unlikely relationship between a political refugee in the U.S. and the American lawyer who wants to win asylum for her - will be given its world-premiere with an official press opening February 9 Off-Broadway at 59E59 St. (located at 59 E. 59 St.) in Manhattan. Directed by Jean Randich, DOG AND WOLF is presented by Watson Arts.

Seize the Day is part of the Not Black and White season at the Tricycle Theatre, examining the state of Britain at the end of the first decade of the twenty first century. The first production photos have been released.

Kwame Kwei-Armah has written and will also direct the world premiere of Seize The Day, which runs from 22 October to 17 December with press night on 2 November. Designs are by Rosa Maggiora with lighting by James Farncombe and sound by Tom Lishman.
