DEAR JOHN, WHY YOKO? with music by Anzu Lawson and Joerg Stoeffel, book and lyrics by Anzu Lawson, tells the untold story of a love that changed the world and defined an era fraught with the same type of protests taking place now. It is my hope by sharing your story, we may all be lucky enough to live out our own dreams in a world where peace and love really exist between all people and war is dead. And we will have John Lennon and Yoko Ono to thank for that vision.

Chilling, sinister, thought-provoking and wickedly funny. Antaeus Theatre Companypresents a fully partner-cast production of Harold Pinter's seldom seen dark comedy, The Hothouse. Directed by Nike Doukas, The Hothouse opens on Jan. 25 and Jan. 26 (one opening for each cast), running through March 11 at the Kiki & David Gindler Performing Arts Center in Glendale. Low-priced previews begin on Jan. 18.

Unique portraits of many Broadway and jazz musical legends will be featured at highly respected British drummer and artist Gilson Lavis' first ever New York City art exhibit 'Gilson Lavis: In Tune With The Portraits' at the Salomon Arts Gallery at 83 Leonard Street in Tribeca from September 15th through October 5th, 2017. Walkabout Theater Company, in association with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, is pleased to present THE CURE, a new ensemble-devised work exploring our relationship with disease, resilience and our pursuit of immortality. Commissioned text by Emma Stanton is fused with interwoven narratives of movement, music, group choreography and funerary rites that investigate the fatigue of hope in the face of profound grief. Directed by Co-Artistic Director Kendra Miller with movement by Co-Artistic Director Thom Pasculli, THE CURE will play June 1 - 18, 2016 at The Sidney R. Yates Gallery at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington St. in Chicago. All performances are free to the public. Advance reservations can be made at walkabouttheater.org/the-cure. After a 19-month run across Australia (Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, and Brisbane), amassing 588 performances, Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed reimagined production of Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil's 30-year-old megamusical LES MISERABLES closes today, January 17, at Queensland Performing Arts Centre's (QPAC) 2,000-seat Lyric Theatre. Fans of the musical can still catch the free supplementary exhibition titled 'Les Miserables: From Page to Stage' at QPAC's Tony Gould Gallery until this Friday, January 23.

Tomorrow's World: The New York World's Fairs and Flushing Meadows Corona Park opens to the public on June 26 at the Arsenal Gallery in Central Park, and will be on view weekdays through August 27. Organized by Jonathan Kuhn, Parks Director of Art & Antiquities, and Jennifer Lantzas, Parks' Public Art Coordinator, the show is mounted on the occasion of the 75th and 50th anniversaries of the New York World's Fairs of 1939-40 and 1964-65. In spite of Winter Storm Hercules, over 300 well-wishers filled La MaMa's La Galleria, 6 East 1st Street, on Friday, January 3 for the opening of 'Desperate Archives' by Split Britches, the legendary lesbian performance troupe. 'Desperate Archives' is a gallery exhibition in which Peggy Shaw and Lois Weaver of Split Britches re-purpose their own archival material from the last 20 years to explore the issues of having, holding, and letting go.
