Bizet's CARMEN's big dramatic imagery, colourful crowd scenes and bold iconic music lends itself to a major spectacle like HANDA ON SYDNEY HARBOUR (HOSH), the jewel in Opera Australia's annual programme so it is understandable that they have opted to 'revive' the 2013 production.

Sean Foley (The Painkiller) directs Griff Rhys Jones and Lee Mack in an adaptation of Moliere's classic comedy The Miser at London's Garrick Theatre. Adapted by Foley and Phil Porter, The Miser is the rip-roaring comedy from one of France's greatest dramatists. A major revival that is sure to rock the West End, The Miser begins previews on March 1st, with an official opening on March 13th 2017.

Walnut Street Theatre's 2016-2017 Independence Studio on 3 season continues with the story behind the making of a great novel in THE GIFT. Written by Will Stutts and directed by Greg Wood, the production opens tonight, February 23, and continues through March 19 in the Walnut's Independence Studio on 3. AMELIE, A NEW MUSICAL will begin performances on Broadway on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 W 48th Street) and officially open Monday, April 3, 2017. Directed by Tony Award winner Pam Mackinnon (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?), AMELIE features a book by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award nominee Craig Lucas (The Light in the Piazza), music by Daniel Messe and lyrics by Nathan Tysen & Messe, and musical staging and choreography by Sam Pinkleton.

The world premiere of Abigail by Papatango award-winning playwright Fiona Doyle will close The Bunker's highly-acclaimed inaugural season. Abigail will be directed by The Bunker's Artistic Director, Joshua McTaggart. Originally written in 2013 when it was long-listed for the Bruntwood Prize, The Bunker's production stars Tia Bannon (The Winter's Tale and Pericles, The Globe) and Mark Rose (King Lear, The Old Vic; Hangmen, Royal Court).
