The Axelrod Performing Arts Center presents the musical Grease for three weeks, June 3-19 at the Vogel Auditorium. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the musical’s Broadway opening, this production of Grease is directed and choreographed by Lisa Stevens, whose resume includes the revivals of Chicago on Broadway and the West End and Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 The Musical. 

From January 12th-21st, North Carolina Theatre will be presenting A.R. Gurney's LOVE LETTERS at the A.J. Fletcher Opera Theater. I recently had the great pleasure of stopping by rehearsal to interview the stars of this production, two-time Emmy nominee Sandy Duncan and Ira David Wood III.

Chicago Children's Theatre (CCT) opens Season 8: Grow tonight with a delightful new production of A Year with Frog and Toad, the Tony-nominated musical based on the Frog and Toad books by Arnold Lobel, directed by Henry Godinez. Performances run through November 24 at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn St., Chicago. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the cast in action below!

Ahead of the first public preview tonight, producers have released rehearsal footage and creative interviews for Quasimodo, the last great unproduced musical by Oliver! composer Lionel Bart, which is getting its World Premiere, 50 years after it was written. In a major coup for the King's Head Theatre in London, Quasimodo will play for a 4-week season from Wednesday 20 March - Saturday 13 April. Click below to watch the behind-the-scenes video!

Jim Caruso's Broadway at Birdland concert series presented the premiere of Liza Minnelli and Sam Harris in 'Schmoolie & Minnooli' on Sunday November 20 at 6pm and Broadway Beat was there to capture the show's zippy opening number with musical direction by Billy Stritch!
