The Albuquerque Theatre guild is an umbrella organization of live theatre companies, theater practitioners, and theater lovers dedicated to making the Albuquerque area's rich live-theatre scene better known to both residents and visitors alike. American Theater Company proudly announces Season 26, which includes the 40th Anniversary revival of The Original Grease with restored, revised and R-rated book, music and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey and directed by Artistic Director PJ Paparelli; Two David Mamet classics in rotating repertory: Oleanna directed by Rick Snyder and Speed-the-Plow directed by ATC Ensemble member Jaime Castañeda; and the World Premiere of The Big Meal written by Dan LeFranc and directed by Dexter Bullard. It's a Wonderful Life: The Radio Play directed by Jason W. Gerace, will return for its ninth holiday season.

The New York Philharmonic will present SONDHEIM: The Birthday Concert on March 15 and Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. This celebration of the 80th birthday of the great Broadway and film composer/lyricist will include his most enduring orchestral music and songs - performed, in some cases, by the stars of the original Broadway cast productions - in addition to rarely-heard material. Joining the celebration will be (in alphabetical order) Michael Cerveris, Victoria Clark, Jason Danieley, Nathan Gunn, George Hearn, Patti LuPone, Marin Mazzie, Audra McDonald, Donna Murphy, Mandy Patinkin, Bernadette Peters, and others to be announced, including surprise guests. Paul Gemignani, Mr. Sondheim's longtime collaborator, will conduct the New York Philharmonic; Lonny Price is the director; and Mr. Price and Matt Cowart are the producers.

Ken Davenport, producer of the Broadway hits Blithe Spirit and Speed-the-Plow, and the Off-Broadway hits Altar Boyz, My First Time, and The Awesome 80s Prom, and a recent Tony Award nominee for Will Ferrell?s You?re Welcome America, today proudly announces that Leslie Arden will write the score for the new musical, Somewhere in Time (www.somewhereintimethemusical.com), based on the novel by Richard Matheson and the Universal film, which starred Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. Mr. Matheson and Mr. Davenport will collaborate on the book. Stafford Arima, currently represented by Altar Boyz at New World Stages, will direct.
