Film and television icon Pee-Wee Herman (Paul Reubens) brought his signature brand of hilarious mayhem to Broadway for a special limited engagement of the acclaimed stage play, The Pee-Wee Herman Show. The show was filmed Jan. 6 for a HBO Special to air later this year. As reported by zap2it.com, Reubens, who spoke via satellite from New York at the Television Critics Association press tour, told press there's been a lot of interest in a television return for 'Pee-Wee.'

In what is essentially a biographical history lesson set to his music, BROADWAY UP CLOSE & PERSONAL: A TRIBUTE TO CY COLEMAN--now performing through December 12 at the Orange County Performing Arts Center's Samueli Theater--combines an entertaining cabaret showcase with a truly engrossing symposium teaching Coleman 101. On June 12th, 2008, on the eve of their headlining performance at the Bonnaroo Music Fesival, multi-platinum rock band Metallica played an intimate, surprise performance at The Basement, an 150-capacity venue below Nashville record store Grimey's New & Preloved Music.

North Shore Music Theatre, which closed in June 2009, is back with an exciting 2010 musical season filled with classic, contemporary and much-loved Broadway favorites. The new NSMT is under the leadership and ownership of Bill Hanney. Experienced in theater management, Hanney is also the Owner/Producer of Theatre By The Sea in Rhode Island, a 500 seat summer theatre now in it's 4th successful year under his leadership. Mr Hanney is also the owner/operator of Entertainment Cinemas, a chain of movie theatres throughout New England.

Joseph V. Melillo, executive producer of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, today announced programming for the BAM 2011 Spring Season, which runs from Jan 7 through Jun 11, 2011. Jean-Claude van Itallie ('The Tibetan Book of the Dead,' 'The Cherry Orchard,' 'The Serpent,' 'Master and Margarita') is writing 'The Mother's Return' as an addition to his seminal work of modern drama, the trilogy known as 'America Hurrah.' From October 15 to 24, 2010, Theatre Research Ensemble (TReE) will perform 'America Hurrah Revisited & The Mother's Return, a work in progress.' The evening is a re-envisioning of a portion of the famed trilogy together with a first staging of the new addition.
